Have an SW machine that had turret indexing problems. Changed the old-style #4 switch to new-style micro roller switch. Everything works fine until target stacks start running out . Then machine will double-index, or go through two stacks, sometimes causing two targets to drop in singles hole. Anyone know how to stop this (other than not letting targets run out)?

Have you cleaned the plates under the rollers of late? Have you replaced the rubber on the rollers??

Check the spring tension on the rollers, they will weaken over time. Usually changing the O rings solves the problem, but I had this problem last year too. Tightening up the tension a couple of turns stopped it. Replaced the spring later. Good luck. Pat will also help solve problems on the phone if you call them.

I don't think this is a roller/roller plate problem. The turret is cycling through two target stacks instead of one, as it should.

Sounds like it may be a timing issue. Did you set #4 so when ith switch closes there is a 1/8" in the V of the cam and the plastic arm? It pretty critical that that be the correct gap. ive had the same problem and it was both timing and the doubles wheel needed a couple turns.
Vince knows his stuff, if after checking this and still have a problem call him or Pat.

Re read your post, the single wheel in your case may need adjusting.
    Sorry
