Our good reliable old Pat Trap started to helicoptering today after using in for a hour. Tried the brake and limit switches adjustments and no luck. Any ideas. Paul k.

You might try disconnecting the voice calls to see if that makes it stop.

Paul, How about writting up a short message on what was found to be the problem?? That way we might all learn something. Things that happen out of the ordinary might happen to us and maybe we'll have the answer, if you clue us in!! I do the maintenance on out Pat Traps and I'm still learning about them.
    Thanks, Tom Boyd

The brake consists of two micro switch's sistered together. I'd guess that one of them was either bad or the wiring to one or both came loose. Paul???

But we are ready for the next time it does it and it will. Must of move something just right. I will let you know if it does and what it took to fix it. sorry guys.

Was the problem, throwing multiple birds each time a target was called for? If so the first question that should be asked is what was the temperure outside? Pat traps do not like temps below 30 degrees F. If that was the case you need to let the hydraulic oil warm up----before allowing the machine to throw birds. Up here on eastern Long Island we keep an electric heater set to 45 degrees in the trap house. We also insulated to inside of the metal roof to keep the heat in. The insulationalso keeps the house cooler in the summer. Just an idea I wanted to share.

Our Pat (in Canada) will windmill if we don't warm up the trap & the fluid. One of the reasons we didn't by Pat skeet machines
