    Passing of Howard

Butch Carter, Delaware trapshooter and friend to all passed away last night. Butch was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer 2 years ago.

No arrangements have been scheduled at this time. I'll update this as they become available.

Butch was the best and a very thoughtful person. One year out at Vandalia, our reservations were lost and Butch gave up one of the rooms he had reserved at the Cross County Inn, so we would have a place to stay all week.

Please advise of the arrangements as soon as you find out what they are.

Butch will be sadly missed by his fellow shooting friends from all over the country. Always a gentleman. A class act. Always had time to chat with you awhile. Good shooter and tough competitor. Most important a good friend.

Saddened by the news but glad for the end of suffering.

I'm so very sorry to hear of Butch's passing. He was one of the guys, a true gentleman, that made you truly thankful that the sport of trapshooting had given you the opportunity to meet and be able to call him friend. I'm glad knowing he is no longer in pain and have no doubt he is getting a squad together with Ron Cahall up above..shoot well my friends
