Just saw online that Palin is going to quit as Governor of Alaska. Why I wonder is that going on? Dan

She probably figured, hell...I don't have any Wall Street connections like Obama's people do, I ain't ever going to be President, and if I stay on as Governor, I'm just going to be a medium-priced punching bag while coward Liberals viciously attack my children. So why don't I quit & become a high-priced public speaker? I can put a lot of money in the bank while my public image is still marketable, and after five years on "the circuit," collecting speaking fees and stumping for Republican candidates across the country at all levels of government, I can retire, go Moose hunting with my husband, maybe run for NRA Board, and sit back at my huge house on a crystal-clear Alaskan lake and laugh at all my detractors (while they struggle to hang onto their no-education Union jobs in Obama's Bankrupt Banana Republic and keep their bills paid).

    ...Smart woman, right there.

She gave good reasons. the pukes sent several squadrons of dirt diggers to Alaska to attack every single facet of the woman, her family, and all connected.
It was taking 80 percent of her time and much of her staff's to deal with all the garbage, And it just wasn't worth it. I really think the good of the state figured in her decision.

I would like to see her on Letterman. Armed.

Sorry to break your left-wing heart Dehaub, there are no skeletons in the closet. Moveon.org, the media and people like you took their toll....she was outnumbered and outgunned by the LIBERAL SCUM that sought to diminish and slander her and her family.....

The one thing you must consider, all that goes around, comes around.....can't wait for mid-term elections......

She is proving something my late mother-in-law often said when we discussed the sorry state of people in politics...."why would anyone decent want to be associated with the rest of them?" I think she got tired of the unending, unfounded attacks by people who aren't suited to carry her garbage. Scum like Letterman, most of the liberal machine, the media, and others. I admire her for getting out before she becomes like one of them.

How many of today's politicians (note, I didn't say statesmen), have only been married once, chose to have a "less than perfect" baby, stood by their children, and took a leap into the smarmy world of politics and kept their class act intact...darn few, but she did.

Clinton, Kennedy (several), both serial adulterers and committed liars, and now a guy with no more experience than the woman they bullied about for the whole campaign. I'm sick of the whole bunch....and I come from the state that is synonymous with corruption...IL, "Where the governors make your license plates."

I think buzz-gun has got it right again. She probably needs to make a little money to pay legal bills. I thought she was making a mistake, but then after listening to her, maybe not.

This way she will have full time to go after and fight the socialist/commies full time. God I hope she is successful.

I can think of about 300 who need to quit. Quit? Hell the clowns I'm thinking of couldn't be dragged from their seat even if the USS Nimitz came up the Potomac an tied a rope around em. They would hang on enough to stall a nuclear aircraft carrier.

As an Alaskan resident, I have to say "Good Riddance"! Since she ran for national office she hasn't been in Alaska long enough to be considered a resident. If she can't stick out the office of governor how oould she ever run our country? And I voted for her!

As a Republican I have to say "Good Riddance"!

"Golly gee, I'm just a pig wearing lipstick" doesn't play very well with me.

She cost us the last election.

I too believe it's best she's gone. I like her but the second she was picked I balked at the prospect. It seemed too much of a gimmick. I don't think she cost the election, however. I think we picked a weak frontrunner.

I think we'll lose the next Presidential election too. Nobody has the charisma to sway the black, hispanic and the union vote.

Our only option may be an economic civil war.

I heard her speech and I believe she absolutely slammed Obama and the left wing media. One reason she said she was quitting was the monies the State of Alaska was spending on the allegations of wrong doing by the media and Democrat operatives. How many politicians put the welfare of the taxpayer above their own political ambitions? I would not be surprised if she ends up as a commentator on FOX. She'll have a better forum to slam the new Communists. The Second American Revolution is coming. No longer if, just when..............

Roach your frontrunner in McLain was a strong pick. He had a great ability to speak just lousy speech writers. The whole election was done on the republican point the finger and bitch election campaign. What lost the election was the Karl Rove school of electionering with blame and finger pointing their only strong points. Then the powers that be wanted to make up some points by bringing in the good looking skirt from Alaska. Good move but-----she wasn't schooled on the knowledge of world politics. Her interviews that were nationally televised made her look like a 5th grader taking a highschool civics test. She failed it miserably. I agree with her quiting her job and otnot knows more about her dealings in Alaska than the restof us. No matter what she does in the future I would assume she is going to prepare herself. She has a lot of work to do to be a world class political candidate. There are people who could have schooled her but they didn't. Why is a good question isn't it? I'm sure the next time she comes up she will make a splash that the republicans can all bath in. Dan

Listening to her answer world politics questions was almost as entertaining as listening to an uneducated pipeline welder post about politics on TS.com. (Almost...but not quite!)

I agree with the poster on the other thread...looks like a Senate run is in the making.

McCain was the most liberal in the generally liberal republican bunch running for president. He picked Palin because he knew she would garner some conservative votes he lost by being too liberal. I believe she helped him out, but it was too much of a stretch. We here in Iowa ran Greg Ganske, a liberal republican congressman against very liberal Tom Harkin to try to catch a few liberal voters and it backfired big time. Harkin won in a landslide. Compromising values to gain popularity does not work. State your position than properly defend it.

Bahahaha...I love how you guys are defending her, "Well the media was just too harsh on her." So what you're saying, is that she couldn't take the heat of being a public official. Put a Democrat in this position, and assume somebody said that "the media was unfair and too harsh to them." You would be slamming into that like crazy!
Bottom line, she just can't take the heat due to above all, her extreme incompetence, and good riddance.

Gee, I wonder.......how much time did Obumble spend in the senate when the campaign began?

Shit, he wasn't there even when he was there.

Otnot, you must be happy she quit. Or are you just another liberal muckraker?

"If you can't stand the heat, get out of the Kitchen". Apparently she can't stand the heat. Maybe she can make some money so she can buy a nicer house where "she can see Russia out her window". The sad thing is that the Republican Party based their future on "Miss Quitter" and some men who couldn't keep their pants zipped. Thanks Republicans for doing nothing during your years in control and dooming the nation by letting the Obama/Pelosi/Democratic Party socialists run our nation in the ground. Third world status for the middle class here we go.

It's a little different when the media is picking at every thing you do compared to ignoring every thing you do (Obama's anti-American past).
Trappy, you have made lots of goofy remarks on this site, but you actually only know what the media want you to know. In this case it all depends on who you believe and where you get your information. I for one don't believe you are as young as you claim to be cause most guys that age would be dreaming of women, beer or cars and the last thing on your mind would be politics. I think you are a phony who is afraid to admit your true positions, but hey, its just what I believe so it's really not that important
