Is the changing of the wad guide (fingered), a relatively easy project on a Ponness Warren 800Plus?? I noticed the guide is quite brittle and several fingers have broken off....time for a change-out.

Remove the nut on the swing out so you can swing it out far enough to work on it, remove the two small allen head screws on the underside and the assy drops out, next unscrew the assy and remove fingers. It is pretty simple

Piece of cake. Just don't loose the tiny screws. Replace the spring at the same time, It probably is worn out as well, or close to it.

Make sure when you put the spring back in it stays normal and one coil or the end of the coil does not overlap.

Much easier to hold the bottom and unscrew the top of the holder.

Lift out the old fingers, drop a new one in.

Screw the top back into place.

I do it all the time of rebuilds.

Hold the unit from the underside, then unscrew the top black piece, remove the wed fingers, insert the new one, screw the top black piece in and you're done.

PS: Be sure to incert your finger down through the top of the wad guide to hold the little finger thingeys in place...do this down to the first joint to get the most benefit...NOT! ....Ask Whiz...grin
