For some reason the old web address will not bring it up. How ever I did find it in YouTube under P-51 Gray Eagle Foundation. The pilot is Jim Brooks and the story is from Chris Woods. Hope all of you can enjoy this great story.

I just listed the web site above. I hope I got it right.3/25/11 up date.

Here is a well done video about the P-51 Mustang and the pilot who flew it in WWII. Very well done video. I think you all will enjoy it. I hope I got the address right. Video web site is listed two post down. Thanks for doing it for me.

This was simply the greatest video I've seen in a very long time. The last ten minutes was simply the best. Next airshow I go to, I'm going to look a little different at the P-51, if there's one there...

    Thanks!!!

    Bruce

Dad, who was a radio operator on a B-17, when he talked about it, which was seldom, always talked in glowing terms of the P-51's especially, but also the P-38's and P-47's, and the hot-shot pilots who flew the "little friends."

I visited the Champlin fighter museum in Mesa, Az. in 1988.

Lots of footage of WW2 air combat and pictures of the pilots who flew.

    Assume it is still there.

A great place to visit if in the area.

    Regards....Gerald

Great video. Imagine the gonads on that little guy. What a hero.

I knew a guy who flew one of the Gliders over the French coast during the invasion. At night! He was 18 then. Never talked about it till we got him a little liquored up one night after work. Some one asked if he was scared. He said "What kind of dumb question is that!". He said over 50% of the gliders crashed. It was ugly at day light.

    Chris,

Do you know where he was stationed?

My Dad was with the 457th Bomb Group, 751st Squadron based near Glatton, south of London.

I always like footage of the planes that flew in WWII.

My most memorable moment was watching a P-51 pilot and an F-4U pilot settling an argruement. The pilot in the Mustang thought he could out turn the Corsair. Boy was he mistaken.

When those two landed and set down for a couple of beers it was the best. Some of those old pilots have a story or two to tell.

Maybe true, but all else equal, I think I'd bet on the P-51 in a dogfight.

    Both awesome aircraft, though.
