As someone just coming off of a 15 month layoff, going 600 miles to have a job, leaving my family for months at a time, I feel your pain. Hope things turn around soon.

Rich in Indiana (missing my family in Pa)

This is the worst I have seen it in my lifetime and the government is only hurting us more with every action they take. Obama and his crew of Demoncrats don't have a clue where jobs come from. I have never seen it this bad.

Every day you pick up a paper and read of more jobs lost! And then the Govt. has the %#&* to give a bonus to a GM exec with stock options for less then a years work. What's wrong with this picture? And what a bonus..far more then you'll make in the next few years even with all the overtime you can get. I'll bet that Exec. is worried about his medical insurance and who is going to feed his family. I love my country, but I fear my government!

Don't you guys know the recession is over? Heard it on the news today, all day long. Consumer spending was up in Feb!!! Yes!! The great consumer is back! The American consumer and Obama with his cost saving health care plan are going to deliver us from the abyss. Good times are here again. Anybody believe that?

I have friends that sent all there's back to Ecuador and built some nice homes. Viva USA Soon as they close the borders , you won`t have to look too far for work .

I don't agree with the illeagles either but most of them do work most whites feel they are to good for, I just spent nine months out of work myself and have just recently gotten a consulting gig in a Packing house. I can tell you first hand if the meat packers had to pay most whites to do that work, we couldn't afford the beef I am sitting down to eat right know.

Feel free to bash away at me and I can handle it just food for thought. I love this country to but we as a group always want better for our children where is the next generation of slaughter house workers going to come from. Jeff

I happened to stop at a large mall in Little Rock, Arkansas last week. I was at this mall on a Wednesday at 1:00 pm. There was virtually no one there! I walked through all 3 tiers of this mall. There were at least a dozen stores closed up. (One appeared to be a major store) This economy is indeed in trouble. I am 66 years old and have never seen the economy this bad. Ed

I was in Las Vegas this past weekend, lines for most of the nicer casinos buffets and resturants. Lots of people gambling at the tables.

Many of the slot machines were available, not many being played.

It seems that those folks with the money, also have the sense to play games that they stand a better chance of winning.

Some of the casinos stock prices are starting to go up. That is one indicator of some things are getting better in this economy.

Let us hope it keeps getting better.

4EVERYOUNG...........And the Mexicans came in with their cheap labor and took higher paying meatpacking jobs away from the whites. Thats when they branched away from the farm labor jobs. Now look what we ended up with.

4everyyoung, What you say is the truth. There are alot of people that cry because of all the jobs that the mexican people will do alot cheaper and alot faster. People dont understand that if companys fire every mexican and hire most others we couldnt afford there product.

Now everyone can get on me too.

I find this statement to be less than accurate. The ones that are hiring the Mexican worker most often do not pass on the savings.

Men's real wages haven't gone up in decades. I think this is largely due to the influx of millions of Mexican men which drive wages of male Americans down. There is no such thing as a job that an American won't do. That is one of the big lies propagated by business owners wanting cheap labor so they can pocket more of the profit and by liberal Democrats knowing that someday these poor laborers will be liberal voters. Hispanics vote 2 thirds for liberal Democrats. It is true that a job will find it's proper wage if there is not an influx of cheap labor from third world countries. The real statement should be jobs American's won't do when they have to compete with slave labor from Mexico. And the company owner laughs all the way to the bank while he sells out our country. I wish I had the power to put them all in jail and close down their businesses. Don't expect the second generation of Mexicans to be willing to do those same jobs for slave wages. You will have to keep the gates open forever to keep the cheap labor coming in. Along with the drugs, violence and government handouts that come with the third world cheap labor.

I'm going to bite my tongue and say nothing. Well, maybe I will say a little. There seems to be a lot of bigotry on this site. Please don't generalize.

I run a couple of small businesses, not long ago I needed some help, I tried to hire a few people that I knew that were out of work and could do the job.. no luck.. all wanted me to pay them in cash so they wouldnt loose their unemployment check.. I have very little cash business and none in a "kitty" to pay out of.. so as usual we just worked into the night and got the job out..

My uncle was a meat cutter for Kroger for years and made a good living, I don't recall high meat prices back then, and the mexicans and their employers had not yet ruined the trade.

Things are being torn down that our parents and grandfathers took years to build up.

It's sad that our own government ignores the will of the people and looks the other way while our laws are being violated. We have lost control of our government.
