It is time for our first 2 day shoot of the calender year at Otter Creek SC. Cedar Rapids, Iowa is the location and URL above will take you to the program.

The snapshot is: Sat 4.30.11 will start w/ a 200 bird sgls event (at Marathon prices). ***** Sign up for 200 bird event ends at 11:00 am).***** The remainder of the day is open to whatever Marathon discipline you desire. The 5th set of 100 targets is FREE!!! And FREE is good. Want more than 500? Then just start the 5 count over.

Sunday 5.1.11 will be a typical 300 target consisting of 100 of each discipline.

Looking forward to seeing you all this weekend! John in Iowa

FYI - Though it is NOT printed in/on the program the sign-up cut-off for the 200 bird singles event will be 11:00 AM on Saturday. We will not mix in 200 bird event shooters w/ Marathon shooters on the same squad. This may leave some open posts on squads but will make tracking scores easier.

Looking forward to seeing you this weekend! As always we appreciate your patronage. Regards, John in Iowa

Yep. You aren't going to see anything like that this weekend!

Looks like a really nice day tomorrow and cooler on Sunday. Should be a great weekend to slay clays! Looking forward to seeing you at Otter Creek!

Is that the infamous Bubba? What is that gaseous cloud around him? Wish I could make it...but other duties call...see ya down the road.

PerazziMX2000 - not exactly certain just what that creature was. Could have been a cousin to sasquatch (sp?) for all I know!

Thanks to all who came out to OCSC over the weekend. Saturday was WINDY, mostly gray with reasonable temperatures. Sunday was mostly sunny (but not bright), WNW winds 15-25 w/ higher gusts and 55 degrees.

I don't recall the exact # if shooters but I think 52 singles shooters. Dave Roby & Kim Schaefer had their Ljutics pounding some very difficult targets. 97 targets to be exact. Now that may seem all that great but WNW winds on north facing target fields can make birds do all sorts of crazy things. Class winners were AA - Mike Yoder 96; A - Bruce Bennett & Gary Jacobsen - 96; B Jan Pewe - 96 & C - Bill (Shrek) Ahern 89. Good shooting Guys!

Handicap had 48 (approx) shooters step up. Jim Steffen of Waterloo was the Champion by flip w/ yours truly as we tied w/ 91s. Jim started to dig a hole & then worked like crazy to finish strong. I on the other hand started strong & fizzled at the end. Good shooting Jim. Ydg Grp winners were; 18-21.5 - Dave Barnhart - 90; 22-24.5 John Dvorak 91; 25-27 Gary Jacobsen - 90. Good job Gentlemen!

Doubles (28? shooters?) were something to behold w/ those winds. Wow! Terry Elder was high w/ a 91. Class winners were: A Steve Phelps - 90; B Bill Lunn & Gary Jacobsen - 87 & C Joe Needham - 82. Good work Fellas.

Thanks again to all who came. We do appreciate your business and hope that you enjoyed yourselves enough to consider joining us again sometime. Next ATA shoots up at Otter Creek are June 4th & 5th. Program will be published later. Regards, John in Iowa
