OCSC's First ATA shoot of calender 2009 is this Sunday (3-15-09). There is a link to the website for directions, etc. Cedar Rapids, IA is the general location. Please come and join us.

To view the program go the web site and go to "Events". Click on the ATA "Schedule" tab and it should appear.

Okay, the weatherman is talking me into it, John.

See you Sunday if the weatherman is right on his predictions. Supposed to be 52 up here, so I'm figuring at least 55 in Cedar Rapids.

Put me down on your squad if you will.

    Hauxfan!

This morning the local ABC affiliate weather guy said 54 on Sunday & Mostly Sunny. Too early for a wind predict but it is March so be ready for anything. We will have you done in time to watch the NCAA selection announcements.

Haux, my friend, you are in. Call me if you decide otherwise.

A secret connection hinted that we might be graced with some Clinton & possibly Scott County Icons also. Throw that motley crew in the bus & head on over for some clay crunching and fellowship. Might be able to wrestle you up some Big Ole tenderloins too.

Looking forward to seeing all of you at one of THE BEST trap clubs in the midwest. John in Iowa

Results of our 3-15-09 ATA shoot. Beautiful day. Probably close to 60 degrees and mostly sunny. SSW winds in 10-15 range with some gusts higher.

48 singles shooters. Danny Meyne led the field w/ a lone 99 in class A. Class B Ron Koch w/ a 96 and Leo Kremer broke a 98.

49 shooters shot the handicap. Larry Mikkelsen was the event leader w/ a 96 from the 22 (he ran the back 50 just to put some emphasis on it). BTW - You may know him as a frequent ts.com poster as "Hauxfan." For his efforts - Larry and "Louise" (his "NOT FOR SALE" Lujtic ARS) get to step back a yard at the next ATA shoot. 19-21 ydg winner was Brad McCarthy w/ a 92. Ken Goldsmith won the 25-27 group w/ a 90.

Danny Meyne was high doubles shooter w/ a 94 in class A. Jerry Pierce won B w/ a 95 and RG Prucha led C w/ a 91. 20 shooters participated in this event.

A big THANK YOU to all who attended the shoot. We appreciate your patronage and hope that you will join us again.

Also Thanks to all who lent a helping hand in preparing the club for the shoot; running the shoot and the ever important and least noted post shoot clean up/paperwork.
