    OTHER THAN YOUR OWN, what

I'm looking to plan some traveling shooting trips, just for fun, and would love to hear which clubs other shooters really like. Go ahead and tell me about your own club, but what I want to know is which is your all-time favourite club and for what reason.

    Thanks in advance!

I used to live in Texas (San Antonio) and would love a road trip down there, shooting along the way. Anyone who has recommendations between Minnesota and Texas? Thanks for the info on Indiana, Alf-99, I'll pinpoint them on my map too.

Also planning a drive from MN to Washington state to visit family, then up to Langley, BC to shoot with friends we met in Hawaii, so suggestions along that path would be very welcome.

Of course, our club is the best club there is! Buffalo Gun Club in Buffalo, MN--just three traps and a small clubhouse but everything from when you walk in the door to leaving after a day of shooting is first class. BGC was 2007's ATA Club of the Year and 2008's Shooting Coach of the Year (Mark Stevens) so you know they're doing lots of things right. I know there's lots of amazing clubs out there so let me hear from you!

When I used to live in Michigan I loved to shoot at Mason.

I enjoy shooting at the National Shooting Complex in San Antonio.

For great targets and great scores Spanish Fork UT is a favorite.

Dillon and Butte MT are nice clubs. The Hoppie Shoot in Missoula MT is a great one, but the background is a challenge, especially on the west end. You shoot across a gully where the target emerges against a background of target debris on the hillside.

I wish I had taken the opportunity to shoot at Jackson Hole, WY when that club was still open, but it never happened. Can you imagine shooting targets right next to the Grand Teton?

PS: Many shooters tell me they like to shoot at my club.

Always liked going to Jaquas and looking at guns after shooting.

I think you would enjoy Stockdale's between Ackley and Iowa Falls, IA. Very much like the feeling we get when we go to Buffalo. Good friendly folks and a well run club. Not far off of 35 on your way to San Antonio. They have a shoot Memorial Day weekend (I know Buffalo does too) and registered weekend shoots in June and July and the Heartland Grand September 1-7. They also shoot registered every Tuesday evening during the summer. Targets are always set well and the background is great. Enjoy.

I third Fulton Co. Gun Club if you are interested in the Rochester, IN area. Second would have to be Wallace Traps in IN.
