Have had ours up for about 10 years now. We put a 40 foot flag pole up and we replace the flag each year. We also put a light out to the pole for night time. We never fly the flag at night without the light.

We fly three flags. The American flag during most of the year, a Halloween "flag" during October, and a Christmas "flag" during December and January.

On my boat, I either fly an American flag, a Confederate flag, or a pirate flag. It all depends how I feel that day.
