I found a Winchester 101 3 barrel skeet set for sale locally. I was discouraged from the 101 trap guns, due to recoil. How would the 101 in 20/28/410 be for occasional skeet diversions? I'm not recoil sensitive (yet), but I shoot Citori Plus for trap and 1187 for other clays, in light reloads.

It is basically a Citori and the recoil won't be any worse than any other OU.

I've owned and shot a 101 skeet gun for years...I installed a Pachmyr Triple Magnum pad on it and it shoots fine, other than like most skeet and sporting guns, it's stocked with waaaaay too low a comb.

I've had a 101 three barrel set for about 10 years and truly enjoy shooting a few rounds of Skeet with it every once in a while. You'll likely end up shooting the 28ga and 410 barrels most of the time.

A set in very good to excellent condition used to run between $2k and $3k while the Pigeon grade will at least add another $1.5k to the price.

While the action is about the same as a Citori, the Brownings have a bulkier feel to them. I used to have a Grade 6 Citori three barrel set but never enjoyed it as much as the 101.

    Good luck,

    Butch
