No, my point is to provide information. When the push goes toward solar, it should go toward localized solar, not the big farms. Did you see that it takes fuel and lots of water to run those big projects?

Stop being so argumentative and look at the content.

Most of these alternatives that are being pushed down our throats have negative sides that are never fully disclosed . Ex. bio fuels, wind power, solar power or the likes. When it costs more to produce it cannot be a worthwhile alternative. We can now extract oil from the shale beds within our borders but if the price of oil drops, will it be profitable to do? We cannot afford foreign oil at the extreme prices we have been subjected to. If the price drops, they reduce production to support higher prices. That's really a lose/lose situation. It's time to stop supporting the world. Let's take care of our citizens within our borders, not illegals, send them back where they came from. We don't need people living in boxes or on park benches. We have the resources to feed & house, and provide medical care to all our people if we just cut out all the extremes sent abroad.

Nuclear power and natural gas. The only realistic alternatives. HMB

What would be the effect on our economy if our government were to clear the way and endorse the production of 10( some studies say we need 40) nuclear power plants in our country as soon as possible?
1)We would create good jobs in their design and construction.2)Once on line they would provide another group of jobs to operate and produce the power.3)We would reduce the amount of $ going out of the country 4)We would send a clear message that we are serious about solving our problems.
It was interesting that in the national 30 minutes address before the election that our president elect listed a group of energy producing priorities and I did not here nuclear listed.
How would the Stock Market react?

IMHO most of the green stuff is smoke and mirrors. You never get the value from paying the extra cost to be green. I guess it is a process to get from where we were to where we want to be. Bill Malcolm

I wonder how geothermal power would work here in the U.S., and if there are any detrimental side-effects to tapping the earth's underground thermal energy. Anybody know anything?
