I am in the process of having a complete tear off and replacement of my roof. As part of that process I was going to try and get a new flashing kit for my existing skylight. Don't know who the manufacturer is, but the glass info has a date of '84. Size of skylight is 29.5" wide and 58 high" measuring from the exposed area at the roof level. If I can't locate a new flashing kit can you give me the name of manufacturers that can make a skylight to size if I can't find a standard replacement in these dimensions. I should mention the skylight is of the fixed type now and that is what the wife wants as a replacement.

    Thanks

Not sure if this is a DIY roof job or if you have a roofing contractor?

Contractor should have a flashing (metal) break and can make the needed item. Had it done by (Baker Roofing) contractor on Father Inlaws house last year. 7 skylight replacements and they had the roof tear off before realizing they did not order the flashing kit with the skylights.

How long to those last before they start leaking, on average? Sure could use one in our kitchen.

Velux made a large percentage of the sky lights out there at one time. Check their website, and see if they have any info.

A good roofer should flash it for you.
