OT - Rifle in the movie

After watching a DVD of the Movie "Shooter", I am not able to identify the rifle the hero, Bob Lee Swagger (played by Mark Wahlberg), uses to shoot a can of Dinty Moore Beef Stew at 2200 yards and is accused of shooting the Ethiopian Arch Bishop with at a similar distance.

It has a bolt with a spiral design around it and it locks up like a Savage 110. It also has a large box magazine that looks like it could hold BMG 50 cal rounds.

Can anybody identify this rifle or is it a Hollywood construct?

The movie itself is not completely true to Stephen Hunter’s book “Point of Impact” but it is entertaining.

In parts of the movie, Bob Lee Swagger does use a Remington 700.

Thank You jls7522 and Capt. Morgan for the quick reply.

That is the rifle. Wow! - The Chey Tac M-200 in .408 is one bad boy of a rifle and a cartridge.
