    OT.Queston on Shot Shells..where are those experts!

    a freind just gave me a lot of old duck loads ,there is a box of Win.Duck Load #6 .12 Ga...2 3/4..1 3/16....says on side of box winchester.Canada,Coburg,Ontatio...has any one heard of such a load....vdt

    Mu best guess is.. Canada was metric and these were for shooting in the U.S. so they put a weight we could identify with..

    Is there a picture of a duck on the box? If so, who cares what is inside. The box and shells can be worth big bucks as a collector's item.

    there is a male and female mallards on the box,i think they are headed north to Canada ,to "open brains " beaver run.

    Hi VTD,

    Your box of Canadian made ammo brings back memories. I use to get loads like that back in the 60's, I recall them being paper tubes and smelling extremely good after splashing a green head or two. Metric system or no, the Canadians used our antiquated ammo nomenclature with shot wt in Oz and powder charge in dram equivelent. I kind of doubt they did this just to sell ammo in the US but who knows. Anyway, it sounds like you got some cool shells that are fun to look at and talk about.
