Chisel off the old flange- careful not to crack the cast iron pipe itself. Go to Lowes or Home Depot and buy a plastic insert type collar made especially to go inside the cast iron pipe about $12.00-$15.00. Get a small bag of high strength concrete mix. Mix a little and put around pipe level with the floor insert bolts in wet concrete to line up with the 4-5 bolt holes in collar. Let it set up overnite. Then insert the lock in plastic collar and tighten (but not to tight) and reset comode.

You may not have trust in plumbers==but as the daughter

of a very, very hard working plumber==I know how long

it takes to become a master plumber==through apprentice,

journeyman and then finally maybe you get to be a master=

Almost as long as a lawyer or some of the other honorable

    professions!!!!!!!

My dad was the 19th registered plumber in Phila. and that

    was in 1919!!!

I must quote, as best I can remember, one of my favorites.

A society that extols mediocrity in Philosophy, because Philosophy is a noble profession, and scorns excellence in Plumbing, because Plumbing is common labor work, is doomed to failure. Neither its theories nor its pipes will hold water for long.

Know the differance between a plumber and pipefitter?

Pipefitters have grease under their fingernails

Hello, well this is funny. I will be going into the fifth year of my plumbing/pipefitting apprenticeship this september. Your jab is warranted as alot of folks like to call themselves a plumber. It requires training and alot of hands on experience to become a good journeyman plumber. There are quite a few of us who do believe in doing it right the first time and do......... Craig
