Dale Jr. announced this morning that He is officially leaving DEI at the end of this season.Who do you think he will go with? I say Richard Childress RCR and maybe drive the 3 car that made his dad famous? Or Joe Gibbs and be partners with Tony and Denny!HMMMMMMMM!

What has mom pissed off Jr? How do you leave your own business? He has the cash flow to start his own team as Gordon has done and get any sponsor he wants.
Most team are using Yates engines so chassis are maybe the only issue. Hell their all driving the same cars under the hood. I say... Yank the restricter plates and let them race.

Painting the #3 red, with Jr. driving will be worth millions!! Can you imagine just the souvenier market alone? Ed

Theresa is not Jr.'s mom. She IS a once-shrewd now apparently crazy businesswoman who is letting the golden goose out of the cage. The only driver at DEI that amounted to a hill of beans was Jr. When he takes Budweiser with him, DEI won't be able to pay the power bill.

Looks like the Garage-majhal will be up for sale soon.

I'm certain that mother Theresa and corporate DEI have had a back up plan in the event something like Jr's decision came to fruition. That Yates/DEI merger rumor could very well be one of them.
The Nascar rumor mill will be at full throttle over the next few months thats for sure.
My money says he grows his JR Motorsports with Truex and Eury Jr in tow into a full time Cup organization. The RCR deal in the #3 car would be priceless though. I'm not sure it will happen though as I believe Truex is going wherever Jr goes. RCR only has room for one more stablemate.

Hulk Hogan will own the car, and the Crew chief will be Rick Flair.

If you heard DW's comments during the Daytona 500 regarding DEI and Junior, he said, Dale Sr. built DEI for Junior so that his legacy would carry on when he retired...and that Theresa needed to get the deal done with Junior....well, she's greedy and has lost sight of the target! Maybe she'll buy Hendrick Motorsports and run Fords!!!...and I hope her decisions cause her to lose lots of sleep!!

All this crap that Sr. built dei for his kids is a crock, doesnt anybody think that if this was so it would have been in his will, Sr. may have had dale jr. as a driver, but he knew he wasnt a responsible person, and that in no way could he run a business.

Theresa is still very shrewd and very, very rich. She will probably end up in good shape W/ DEI. I think that Tony U is still a big holdup for Jr. My bet is RCR Racing in the #3. Len Weller

DEI will now hinge on if Teresa can keep the #3 fans buying souveniers. If the Earnhardt Nation decides to stop buying, Teresa can sail off into the sunset on "Sunday's Money". Hard to understand what her thinking was, as she knew that if Jr. did not get 51% he would leave. There also was the wildcard of Jr's sister Kelly. Where did she fit this mix?

If RCR resurects the #3 with JR, just who do you think will sell more souveniers?

If the #3 comes back, Richard C and Jr will make the money on the souveniers. Wow, if we could get in on that gold rush! Also I think Jrs sister works for Jr. I think she was nogiated he contract. I think Junior was trying to keep it in the family. Len Weller

If NASCAR doesn't do something to make the races interesting, and I definately do NOT think the Car of Tomorrow is NASCAR's savior, although it may make impacts safer for drivers, this "cookie cutter" WWE on Wheels will appeal to less and less.

Yates and DEI will never merge. With the four car maximum for teams it would make no sense. Besides, what benefit would there be having a Ford team and a GM team merge. Relative to DEI and Jr. I would hope that since there are multiple siblings involved that Jr. getting 51% might be un-fair. Heck, even if he owned 51% through a purchase then wouldn't that put the other 49% at risk for the sisters and brothers if Jr. failed as a businessman? I would bet on Theresa if I had inheritance money to invest. Jr. can mash the gas put I'm not sure he can run a business as Theresa has proven she can. Neither party will be in the "soup line" anytime soon so I won't be losing any sleep over this one.

MIA I have to disagree. I don't see Jr. on the same team as Gordo or Ky. Busch. Also, I beleive that Jr. controls all of the cards and Bud is pleasantly tagging along. If bud said they weren'tgoing to be Jr.'s sponsor, there would be 100 other people waiting to sponsor him, and give him whatever he wanted.

That said, I say he ends up with Childress and Bud stays. Dale and Richard are already talking, and Dale wants to follow in his father's footsteps. Money for Dale Jr. is not an issue. The only family he has to take care of right now is his mother Brenda. His sister Kelley is his business mgr., so she makes good coin and her husband is an Elledge, so money isn't really an issue there either.Look at the money Jr. makes on merchandise alone. Besides the fact that Childress will pay him handsomely anyway. It's a done deal.
