The price of fuel seems to be pretty good though.

Fred Meyer's has pretty good fuel prices. They're cheaper than most other stations. If you use your rewards card, you get 3 cents a gallon off that price. If you spend $100 in the store, you get 10 cents a gallon off on your next gas purchase. With three drivers in the family now, we fill up there almost exclusively, and it makes a big difference.

Wow! What is the consistency of gasoline at that temp? Does gas start getting a little syrupy at 62 below? Just curious.....Rick

My question is, where in the hell would you be going in -60 degree weather?

And I was upset with the 16 degree temp here in South Georgia this morning. We have had 15 straight days with freezing weather at night. Coldest winter I have ever seen in South Georgia. Jackie B.

    That's old....

I'm in anchorage and it hasn't been / doesn't get that cold here. My guess is that the picture is from Fairbanks, where I spent a decade in 1990 and 1991.

Also, our gas up here is $3.25 a gallon now. We did get fairly low last winter. Might be from then.

We had something like 40 days of temps where the HIGH for the day was 20 below. I was USAF at the time, and we had a lot of days we couldn't fly because it was sooo cold the jet fuel was slushy.

The coldest I've seen anywhere in Alaska this winter has been -44 in Fort Yukon. That is north of Fairbanks in the interior. It's been in the +30s & +40s most of the winter where I am on the coast.

    Shoot well and often,

    Mark.
