I can't beleive this, after standing at the podium, shaking his pen, and vowing not to sign pork laden bills, what did he do??? Votes on the rescue bill, Full Of PORK !! I have emailed him ( like that does alot ) and expressed how he has already lied to me. I have been trying to write my Representative, but the house website has been so jammed this morning, it just comes up error.

John McCain has lost his credibility. If it was not for things like Supreme Court appointments, gun rights, etc., I would say it makes no difference who wins the election. I am going to write my Representative if I can get through. Keep their lines and telephones jammed. This pig shouldn't fly.

Obama voted in favor of it also, probably the first thing he ever voted on other than tax increases which happened 91 times ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

I was able to get an e-mail through to my Representative and to McCain's web site. We need to light them up.

As long as the Acorn provision was out it don't hurt as much.

The problem is there was an attitude of holding your nose and voting yes right now so something could get done. 450 pages. All of which go right into your knickers.

I personally am in favor of Newt's proposal.

The Senators who inserted the pork barrel and earmark provisions into this supposedly crucial bill didn't set aside their principles. If they had this would be a clean bill. This bill is not the panacea. There are other options and time to consider them. Earmarks for Film and Television Productions, wooden arrows designed to be used by children, 6 pages for litigants in the Exxon Valdez incident, Virgin Island and Puerto Rican rum, auto race tracks, etc, etc. There may be merit to some of them but they don't belong in this bill. Give me a break.

Maybe we should all take a "shot" of Puerto Rican rum and chill.....heck we may need to drink a lot of that rum depending on who is elected.

We are on the road to full blown socialism and nothing can stop it. Our government just hosed us. Almost 1 trillion dollars stolen from us to pay back problems the government created. Bigger government to fix big government. Now we are getting ready to elect a complete Marxist. He doesn't even hide it. He has his own television channel now, the Obama channel (he already had CNN, NBC, CBS, and ABC but that wasn't enough). He has children singing his praises. He reminds me of a communist leader. Children singing how Obama is going to bring peace and prosperity to the world. God help us all. I fully expect his picture to be plastered everywhere when he is elected. Our own Chavez.

If we would have listened to him 3 years ago we would not be in the mess we are in and his hand would not have been forced to sign such a bullshit bill!

Luckyman, I presume you're speaking of President Bush, who 12 times in 8 years has petitioned the congress to address the lunatic management of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac only to be blocked by democrats and liberal republicans. Is that whom you were speaking of.....hmmmmm? Or perhaps you were speaking of "Mumbles" Barney Frank or Chris "The Dip" Dodd, two of the ringleaders along with "Mr. Horny" Bill Clinton who started this crap in 1995 and whom the "Queen Bimbo" Nancy Pelosi eulogized as heroes who were going to save us from the "Bush Economic Polices" and "Greedy Wall Streeters" who were to blame. Were you speaking of one of these, Bunkie.....hmmmm?

That is your right and I respect another person's rights. But I believe I do have the right to complain because I don't vote for these crooks and never have. And, never will. I actually think a person DOES NOT have the right to complain if they voted for one of these scumbags!

Mark Rounds, you can vote Libertarian. It will send a better message to the other 2 parties than staying home.

I'm with Titewad on this. Mark a no vote is a cop out, if you truly don't want either of the main party candidates. Write one in or vote Libertarian. One who neglects to vote has no right to gripe about the outcome. Just my thoughts on it. Vote your heart and mind. Woolsey

This is, unfortunately, a reality of Congress. The bill, as much as many of us dislike it, needs to be passed. It came close, until Pelosi opened her fat yap and blamed Bush and the Republicans in some of the most shameless partisan hogwash in a month of Sundays. So now the bill comes around again, and many are holding out for their slice of the pie, attaching bills that otherwise would not stand on their own merit. McCain knows this needs to pass to prevent a financial avalanche, and his back is to the wall. Does he stand on principle to abolish pork and risk a full blown depression? Or does vote for it and all the pork, something he said he was going to fight. Frankly, I smell a Democratic setup here. They're loading up the pork, but watch them blame McCain for voting for pork. It's like the no-win situation when Daddy Bush said "Read my lips: No new taxes". But congress passed new taxes, and them blamed Bush for shutting down the government when he vetoed the bill, and then blamed him when he did pass their tax increase. The Dems are going to twist this pork around to be McCain's fault.

Obama is a pure socialist. McCain is too liberal to suit me but Obama is at perfect example of "class warfare. Those of you wanting Obama will probably enjoy better welfare benefits if you are a non productive member of society and higher taxes if you are not.
