I have a cousin looking for a nice M-1 Garand.

Anyone have one for sale, or know of any websites he could check out where he might find what he's looking for?

    Thanks!

    Hauxfan!

If he can wait until about October, the CMP should have some ready to sell.

What is he looking for? Is he interested in a collectible, a
shooter, a wall-hanger, any idea? I've got several that we could
probably negotiate on, depending on what he wants. The CMP will
start taking orders again around October (according to their website)
but who knows when they will actually start shipping them. They
recently said that the USGI garands are pretty much gone, other
than those returned by Vet organizations, and those will probably
have had many, many rounds of blanks fired through them. They
didn't sound very encouraging. Future ones expected to be MAP
    rifles.
I'm currently on a little 'grand-kidding' vacation in Minnesota
(hope to get out to the Minneapolis GC this afternoon for a
short visit) but I'll be home Tuesday evening. I have lots of
pix available of various models. It's interesting that you put
this post up, I was just thinking of 'thinning out' the collection
    a bit......
I have a couple of Carbines he might be interested in, even though
I hadn't thought about selling any of those. Might be tempted
to 'thin' there a bit also, have to think about that one.
If you would rather wait for CMP, that's OK also. CMP orders
are a crapshoot if you don't want to go to one of the CMP stores
(or visit a Gun Show where they exhibit) but sometimes you can
find a real nice 'nugget' when you order. At least, if you go
to the North or South CMP stores, you can pick out what you want
from what they happen to have on display that day. I've found
some pretty nice ones at the North store, other days all they
have had is pretty much wall-hanging stuff. Your choice, of
    course....

To order guns through the CMP one must be a member of a CMP affiliated club.

Look for one at the larger gun shows. Often there will be vendors that deal soley in militaria. Know what you are looking at or take someone that does.

JerryP is right, there are several requirements which must be met to
buy from the CMP. Most all of the requirements are met by Veterans.
Those who are at least 60 years of age also have some requirements
    waived. The requirements are listed on the CMP website at;

    http://www.odcmp.com/Services/Rifles/eligibility_requirements.htm

You don't HAVE to be a Vet, but it makes things much easier at
    the CMP.

The requirements are not that difficult to meet, but they can't
    be avoided....
If you look for a rifle at a gun show, someone knowledgable is certainly
handy. But, even then, take along some sort of Muzzle/Chamber gauge or go-nogo
headspace gauges at a minimum. You will seldom find any bargains there,
but even a blind pig in the woods finds an acorn once in a while......

I posted one here last month. It is a WW2 Garand, with Match sights. bore has very little wear, bullet test ecxellent. Excellent shape.

If you'r just looking for a shooter, don't bother, this one is much more than that.

Email me and I will send you pics. Or use the search function here and get back to me.

I have a Springfield M1 Garand that is in good shape and a good shooter. Looking for 675.00 for it and you pay the shipping. It has been rebuilt at one point or another and has a Winchester Bolt.
