Would like to find a decent older Remington 760 in .35 Rem cal. Would prefer a carbine, but don't know that it was ever made in this cal.

kinda remembered they didn't make the .35 in a carbine. Still would like to get a .35 Rem. in a 760. Tell Hiram to check his back room...LOL.

Larry, have you trolled GunsAmerica and GunBroker? I was looking for a rifle for a friend of mine a few weeks ago and recall seeing a 35 or two on one of those sites.

By the way, Vern, Paul wound up with a 760BDL in .270.

A competent gunsmith can make a carbine out of a rifle, if you don't mind it not being original.

Remington did make the 35 Rem in a carbine. They made 456 of them. Have one in my 760 collection. Value is probably north of $3000.

Larry, if I did see one on those sites, it has sold. I checked this afternoon and couldn't find it. There was a .30-06 carbine on one of them, though.

Thanks Ed. I will try to find a 35 Rem, and have it cut by a gunsmith and recrowned. Not looking to spend $3000.00 for a gun. I want one for sentimental value.

Gotcha. I know I said this before, but I think I saw a 760 rifle in .35 during my afternoon surf yesterday.

I recall shooting a Remington .35 Magnum bolt action/carbine with a bright yellow & brown laminated stock around 1970 in Center County PA. It may have been a model 700?? It was a cool little gun, and was very short and light. It made a very loud noise.

Just last week, my shoulder stopped hurting from this event. I believe this has lead to my experience with various methods of trapgun recoil reduction in 2009.

Thanks for the help. I'm still looking. The Gun Auction items were already closed when I saw the updates on here.

    Jack,
That would have been a Remington 600, or perhaps 660. 350 Remington Magnum caliber. Introduced in the 1960's...discontinued in the early 1970's.

Thanks Don, for the info. on the Remington 600.

After 37 years, my swollen cheek is almost back to normal. I did fire it twice however.
