How do you replace line on the spool? Does the center nub "pop off" or is it threaded? This is a K-100 model with the curved shaft. Tony

Most of them wind off (threaded - lefty/loosy). Watch out the spring doesn't roll away. Good luck.

One thing I recently learned is that square string lasts forever where as the round does not. Try it and you will be amazed how long you can go without a refill

Any particular brand or location to buy it?

I doubt the brand makes a diff. I purchased a new head that does not need to be taken apart to load. You just stick the line through the head so it sticks out both sides and trun the drum. It has square line and it wears like iron. I have been using it all summer with no refills yet. The brand of head is Oregon Speed Feed. Now after looking at the line it appears to be twisted??
