my wife's uncle called me this evening.

he has an old .32 cal with a detachable 16 ga barrel. manufactured by hopkins and allen company sometime after 1890. he said it was a lever action, but it might be a rolling block. i have not seen it and have no pictures.

would anyone have any idea what this h&a gun might be worth?

I have a minty H&A in .38 S&W for sale on Gun Broker. Mine is all original with approx 95% case colors and factory checkered wood. It sports a 24" octagon barrel which is like new inside and out. The "Blue Book" value is
quite low on these models and hasn't kept up with the current demands. They
are now becoming very collectible and larger calibers are the most desireable.
Of course condition is "everything" when your collecting. I know I won't take less than $1000. for mine. Good luck. Oh yes, it is a "falling block" action.
