We have a new democratic administration about to take power. The more that I research and read, the more enlightened I become. I feel that some of my shooting friends are truly uninformed, because even they are scoffing at what they feel is a trumped-up fear of "gun grabbers." We have all read the posts written by some who try to belittle those that have fears of impending socialism.

In response to those who do not heed the cry of warning from those who are trying - in earnest - to keep our freedoms, and in honor of Veterans who have given of themselves to protect those freedoms, here are a few quotes for you to ponder:

"Waiting periods are only a step. Registration is only a step. The prohibition of private firearms is the goal." -U.S. Attorney General Janet Reno, December 1993

"Our task of creating a socialist America can only succeed when those who would resist us have been totally disarmed." -Sara Brady, Chairman, Handgun Control,
to Sen. Howard Metzanbaum, The National Educator, January 1994, Page 3

"What good does it do to ban some guns. All guns should be banned." -Sen. Howard Metzanbaum

"We can't be so fixated on our desire to preserve the rights of ordinary Americans ..." -Bill Clinton, USA TODAY, 11 March 1993, page 2A

"When we got organized as a country and we wrote a fairly radical Constitution with a radical Bill of Rights, giving a radical amount of individual freedom to Americans ..." -President Bill Clinton, 3/22/94, MTV's "Enough is Enough"

There is no reason for anyone in this country -- anyone except a police officer or military person -- to buy, to own, to have, to use a handgun. The only way to control handgun use in this country is to prohibit the guns. -President Bill Clinton

We're bending the law as far as we can to ban an entirely new class of guns. -Rahm Emmanuel

Banning guns addresses a fundamental right of all Americans to feel safe. -Dianne Feinstein

There is no reason for anyone in this country, anyone except a police officer or a military person, to buy, to own, to have, to use a handgun. I used to think handguns could be controlled by laws about registration, by laws requiring waiting periods for purchasers, by laws making sellers check out the past of buyers. I now think the only way to control handgun use in this country is to prohibit the guns. And the only way to do that is to change the Constitution. -Michael Gartner

The Second Amendment no longer speaks to us. The Second Amendment has no modern day application. The Second Amendment is dead. -Judge Ron Greenburg

Your post is right on the mark. As gun owners we all need to make our voices heard by joinig the NRA. In an effort to preserve our rights and keep America free.
