OT- Best way to get rid of box elders?

    seriously they might come back anyway no matter what you do

    for your current situation- set out a small pail or several bowls of soaping water- they will kill themselves

    Tempo is what I also would reccomend. Look for at do it yourself pesticide store or garden center

    Shootlow told me, that if you get enough of them, you can grind them up, mix an egg with them and fry them up. Said they are delicious with a little salt, pepper and yellow mustard.

    Wanted me to try it, but I said no thanks.

    That Shootlow is always trying to help me out.

    What a great guy.

    We always called them democrat bugs. You could never kill them off cause more would keep coming back for free stuff.

    The only food source for the box elder bug is the box elder maple. The only way to truly get rid of the bugs is to remove the food source I.E. cut down the box elder maple trees. While this is great in theory if the trees are not on your property you are out of luck and must do the formentioned ideas to help control the bugs.
