I chose "Marplot" because when I gave bad feedback to a Chinese seller (sure, it was a Ming Dynasty General's Sword), she called me this name. Had to look it up, and found:

"An officious meddler whose interference compromises the success of an undertaking.

[After Marplot, a character in The Busy Body, a play by Susannah Centlivre (1669-1723).

I liked the sound of the name and adopted it! And the first three letters are the first three letters of my last name.!

Had it since I was nine. The cops showed up at the door for the third time in as many months about me throwing rocks at the neighbor's cat.

When my dad answered the door and found out what the problem was, again, he told my brother go get "the rock" NOW! My fanny finally stopped hurting but the name still lives on with the gang I grew up with.

I gained my "Quick 1" handle from a racing website. I dragraced and drove an alcohol funnycar. I have used this moniker on most websites including Gunbroker. Took some ribbing using it on a dating website however!

I'll have to get back to you on this one.

I seemed to have forgotten how I arrived at my sobriquet.

Maybe if I think really really hard, I'll remember. In the meantime, please don't hide this thread on me. When you get old, you tend to forget somethings and I don't want to misplace this thread.

    Hauxfan!

Its what I did as a profession, loved every minute of it!

20 below zero, 4 feet of snow, 110 degrees in July, only thing that stop me was high wind and "Greenies"

The only good tree is a stump!

Gun I shot at the time when I joined this site. Real creative. I would have used my name, but very few people did that then. Bill Malcolm

Derived from my service years. 5th Special Forces Airborne, RVN. 1966-67.
