    Hot off the presses:

After additional 275 singles in overtime against the superb shooter Mr. Jamie Caldwell - and the trap cranked up to full blast with the targets soaring like teals - hot shot Dave Storring won the Championship Singles. (each had scored 199 in the 200 singles event - New York State champ Michael Moran had the sole perfect score today and won NR champion).

Brittany Calwell won the woman's Singles title outright today with a 196 - with Erin Collins coming in as r/u with a 195.

Peter Tzementzis was the resident Handicap champ, with Cody Davis (PA) as the NR champ.

Other great winners in the championship caps:
Ernie Kister - r/u; Verne Higgs - 3rd; Tony Nogaro - 4th; Paul Shaw - 5th; Reg Treanor - 6th; 19-21 Frank Ruggerio; 22-23 Steve Hajoglou; 24-25 Brad Mann; Dianne Wood took Lady title with Erin Collins as the Lady r/u. Mark Edmondson was the Vet champion.

Peter Tzementzis was the Doubles Champ - Cody Davis from Pennsylvania was the NR Doubles Champion with Terry Jordan scooping the AA trophy.

    Additional twins champs:
Alicia Marinache - Lady; Travis Higgs - resident A; Florin Marinache - resident B; Aboud & Manuel (sorry last names not on my paperwork) took resident C and D respectively; Paolo Pronio - resident SV; Mark Edmondson - Vet; Kai Erber - resident Jr.; Kyle Mann - resident SJ

Open Winners: Edwin (last name illegible, sorry) took A class; Earl Brown was B champ; Lucio Bonaiuto - C; Tony D'Olivera was D winner.

Attendance was down by a bit - two major rain delays on Saturday - otherwise the weather was fair on Sunday and great today (Monday).
(The province of Ontario has a civic holiday the first Monday in August, in case y'all think we took the day off to compete today!)

2008-2009 OPTA board: Steve Stiby, Bill Malcolm, Gord Kerr, Ray Cockburn, Basil Zmiyiwsky, Steve Hajoglou, Neville Henderson, Florin Marinache.

Paul Shaw remains ATA delegate; Gord Kerr remains ATA Alternate delegate.

I'm hoping more information will be posted here as it is known, including last names and scores as well as additional winners I've not been able to provide yet.
Keep an eye on the OPTA website - now that Florin is on the board he'll probably be working his magic with their website: http://www.trapshooting.on.ca/index.htm

Congratulations to all - great to see many of you again so soon - please travel safely to The Grand!

More than likely, Paul Shaw is in Sparta this AM. Or very close. Likely the subject of grand program delivery should be addressed. We seem to get most others in a timely fashion. Must be a reason.
