My Dad once lost a good Beagle hound in a similar incident. Beagle was running a rabbit, and the rabbit ran out of field into a highway with beagle on his tail. Car struck and killed both rabbit and Beagle Hound. That fine Beagle was that close to catching him.

    Bill,

I know, that is why I said similar. No matter how it happened, they were close.

It may have thought OH SHEEP, but If it tried to say it I bet all it got out was, bytthhttttttt!

I have seen, heard about lions doing silly things when trying to get a meal. nothing as Spectacular as the pic's!

I will take the liberty of adding.........

the one I heard but with visual refferrences,

Years ago a trucker was standing a little ahead of and a little to the right of his rig shaking his head while it was unloaded.

I walked over and asked him what was up?

He pointed at the badly bent grill and said that was A nice mule deer buck, then at the door, with a huge dent, that was a lion. Not much left of either after they went under.

And the one seen........but no lion there......

One day I was driving to my favorite rabbit grounds, I had just the chance to say, look at, thump thump, the two coyotes, that ran out into the road to play.

Nothing as sad, and Beautiful as the spectaculr Pictures though.

    Al
