Oldie But Goodie #3: Winchester Model 12 Three Barrel Pigeon Grade Set

This Model 12 is the Center Piece of my Older Shotgun Collection..

I purchased this set about 15 years ago. Just the way it is shown in the pictures. The set dates to 1946. I was told, it started off as a Pigeon Grade WS2 Skeet Gun and the owner sent it back to have the other two barrels added.(This was never varfied by Winchester). The only thing I did was have Americase make me a custom three barrel case for it. (You need a crane to lift it)

This set was totally restored by Arts….

    12 Gauge WS2 Skeet Barrel
    12 Gauge 30” Full Barrel
    12 Gauge 28” Modified Barrel

All are Pigeon Barrels with solid ribs and twin beads. All of the metal was Rust Blued. All of the wood is Exhibition Grade with B Grade Carved Checkering………

I think the pictures speak for themselves on this one…..

I hope you are enjoying looking at some of the older shotguns in my collection. I am sort of stuck in the house (medical reasons) and I enjoy sharing my passion of older shotguns with you….

    Thanks for looking…..

    Stu Gabriel (MrGun)

I am really glade to see that there are so many shooter's that appreciate the older shotguns as much as I do...

Keep a watch....There is more to come....

Thanks to all for your comments....

    Bill,

    Thanks for the tip.

What color background would you recomend on these pictular pictures? Would a Red sheet work?

I normally take a large quantities of pictures and weed thru them to get the best shots and then clean them up with software.

I have notice the varying shades in the photo's. Is that because of the white background causin the meter to change the amount of light needed for the shot?

I am always looking for ways to improve my photo's....

    Thanks,

    Stu Gabriel (MrGun)

Stu, the automatic meters built into cameras consider gray neutral. You can't go too wrong with some sort of gray background then let the subject colors stand out.....breakemall....Bob Dodd

These pictures should have gone on that post "870 is superior to M12".

Doesn't leave much room for argument.

    AJ100,

I did read that post and really could not belive the responses that it has generated. I have owned and shot Remington 870's (older and newer models)...Nothing wrong with them at all, but as far as quality, durabilty, craftsmenship and smoking targets, there is no comparison too any model 12, in my eyes....

    Thanks for your comments,

    Stu Gabriel (MrGun)

Thanks for your comments. These guns are all on display in gun cabinets in my rec room...They are too pretty to be stored away. I enjoy looking at them. Unfortuneatly, due to medical reasons, I have not been able to shoot for the last year and a half. Hopefully, in the future, I will be able to get out on the trapline again...
