Oldie But Goodie: Winchester 1952 Model 12 Custom

Here we have a very unusual shotgun in my collection. It’s A Winchester Model 12 that was manufactured in 1952. It was custom stocked prior to my purchase.

The unusual thing about this particular Model 12 is that it has A Factory 27”, Full Fixed Choked Barrel with Vent Rib…And it is stamped by the Factory. I have never seen a Model 12 with a Factory 27” Fixed Full Choked Barrel Before. Have you?

Any information that you could supply would be greatly appreciated…….

    Thanks for looking,

    Stu Gabriel (MrGun)

Hi Mr. Gun......you have some beautiful guns. I posted because I "might" have an answer to your question about the 27" barrel. Are you measuring the entire barrel, including the threaded portion that fits into the receiver?. I believe Winchester included this in the barrel measurement.

This is a FACTORY 27" barrel. I was told by a Ts.com member that these shotguns where made in 1952, but where not marketed until 1953. They where suppose to be the greatest thing to come down the pike, but they fizzeled out. They where only made that one year.

    Thanks for looking,

There were 26 3/4" two pin vent rib guns made in all chokes, but they were very rare in any choke but WS1 and the pictures you furnish don't identify your gun as one of these rare guns. We need many more pictures.

    Buddy,

No, this is not a Fagen Stock. I was told that this stock set was made by a Stocker Maker from Maine, who is no longer with us....
