Just acquired a Browning Superposed 12 gauge solid rib field gun Ser. # 471XX which I believe makes it a 1956 gun. Anyway, bluing and wood look original except the recoil pad is a Pachmayr. The stock does not appear to be cut but the LOP from the trigger to the end of the wood is 13". Would like to know if this stock is as manufactured or has been altered. Thanks in advance for any info offered. Art G.

I would think it's original as a recoil pad would bring it to 14". Perhaps field guns came with shorter stocks than trap guns.
