I have a Leica that I have no clue as to its value. Maybe someone can help.

I've been told it is a range finder that dates late 1948. It is an absolute
    perfect 35 mm camera.

The serial no. indicates a Leica IIc from around 1948. These have shutter speeds up to 1/500th and no separate slow speed dial. Many Leica's were factory updated so serial no. alone is not a absolute guide to identity. Collecter value varies depending on condition, (internal and external). A nice clean IIc might bring a $200 or a little more. If there is a lens, it may be worth more. Many of the Leitz lenses have good collector value.
