I see where our wonderful Attorney General Eric Holder is going to put the mastermind (Khalid Sheikh Mohammed) of 9/11 on trial in Manhattan. Bring him in from Gitmo and give him his day in our civilian court.

This is going to be a circus. Wonder who will make up the dream team defense counsel? With Mideastern oil money footing the legal bill, I can only imagine nothing but the best. Possibly an Ivy League law professor or three just foaming at the mouth to run this country through the wringer?

Wonder if a left wing NY judge will allow him to post bail?

Will it be a CIA agent or FBI agent who will be the next Mark Fuhrman? Reputation trashed because at one time he might have said the word "raghead". Therefore the 12 jurors (most likely NYC cab drivers, aka Muslims) will have a reason to acquit.

Wonder what Judge Ito is doing?

    Thanks for the change Obammie.

This trial is to appease the left in this country. Note that Military Commissions Act is still in force. More on that in a moment...

The Associated Press thinks it's just peachy because it's a "slam dunk". So KSM gets convicted and the Prez gets to show the American left and foreign critics that the American justice system is a model for the world. Hmm...okay, the verdict is predetermined then? That makes it a good idea?

Anyone think that our leftists will be satisfied with that? Or "foreign critics"? And if other terrorists are tried in civilian courts, will classified documents be *declassified*? Surely, in some (most?) instances the only evidence that will meet standards of evidence in civilian courts will be classified documents. Or do we *not* declassify the relevant documents and let them be acquitted for lack of evidence?

Either way, I think the Military Commissions will fall into abeyance. The "message" being sent is that the Military Commissions aren't good enough, or fair enough.

This "show trial" idea is a very bad thing.

Actually the pukes have to be celbrating wildly.

This is their big chance to put the CIA, waterboarding, and the Bush administration on trial in front of the whole world.

Tens of millions of dollars is just a start. The whole thing will be a circus, and fill hours of Liberal media time. There will be hordes of people that need to be controlled, and demonstrations all over the place.

The actual war criminal and his actions will fade in the distance of the Liberal Woodstock that will happen.

And don't forget...they admitted they did the crime, said they are proud of it, and wish to go to heaven for it.

So what is the trial even for? Their guilt or innocence is not being disputed.

To me, this is a procedural matter, and should be OVER in 5 minutes.

Yes buzzy to you and me it should be over in 5 minutes, but what is some east coast liberal puke ACLU lawyer going to argue? He is going to argue that these fine upstanding noncitizens weren't "mirandized" and therefore their confessions should not be allowed.

"Where's the evidence" will be the cry from the ACLU pukes. We want to cross exam every undercover CIA, FBI, Army intel............ We want to confront all the evidence. Blah, blah, blah....

This war on terror is still going on. This trial would be like putting Yamamota, (if we somehow had captured him) in 1943 for being the mastermind of the Pearl Harbor attack. His lawyer would demand evidence of how we knew he was the mastermind? Would we present the evidence in open court that we knew he was, because we broke the Japanese code and learned from that? In this trial the rags are going to find out what we know about them and how we found it out with the war still going on.

I was worried about these terroists being acquitted and set free. After all they will have the best defense team money can buy who will probably demand that the jury be packed with their peers. Get some Muslim NYC cab driver on the jury and these guys could skate.

But I learned today these guys will never see day light again. If they do somehow get acquitted of the terroism charge, Pelosi says they will then be charged with the much more serious federal crime of - not having purchased health insurance! Ouch, that is a hanging defense. No way can they beat that rap in this current environment. They may just plea guilty to terroism to avoid the no health insurance count.
