OHIO SHOOTER & GOOD FRIEND PASSES

    Rodney K. Bennett, 72, of Columbus, Oh., died July 8, 2007, at the St. Joseph Hospital in Parkersburg, W.Va. He was born in Belpre, Oh., the son of the late John Kenneth and Glada M. Abbott Bennett. Before his retirement, he had worked as a Surveyor for Benatec and Associates and was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp. He was an avid Golfer and Trapshooter and was a 20 year member of the Lancaster Airport Gun Club and the Tri County Sportsman Club. He is survived by his sisters, Sue Baker of Walker, W.Va. and Jane Augenstein and her husband, Mike of Whipple, Oh.; his nieces, Jennifer Augenstein of Marietta, Oh., Bonnie Holland of Parkersburg, Brenda Boggs of Bartlett, Oh. and Beth Eklund of Parkersburg; and his faithful companion Beagle dog, Bob. He was preceded in death by his wife Linda Loudin Bennett on May 24, 1987. Funeral service will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at the LEAVITT FUNERAL HOME, Parkersburg, W.Va. with Rev. Jack Berry officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Donor Services, P.O. Box 4072, Pittsfield, Mass. 01202.
