What a great night for trap shooting. The weather was perfect. We had a nice crowd with a total of 40 squads. Some of the top shooters tonite were:

    Eric Steen 99x100

    Fred (Smitty) Smith 97x100

    Jim Sevy 50x50

    Merlynn W. 49x50

    Bob Aldridge 48x50

    Lou G. 48x50

Our top prize winner tonite was Darrell Cook with 4.

Our longbird jackpot started the night at $275 and by the 7pm drawing it was up to $401. Lucky Larry Kirk was the shooter drawn by Dee. He was trying to shoot Carliss Bower's gun with a release tigger on trap 3 when we called him to shoot the longbird. When he reported to the practice trap with his pull trigger gun I had a feeling it wasn't going to be good. When he called for the bird from post 1 he was unable to pull the trigger and a failure to fire resulted in the pot rolling over. I felt bad for him but those are the rules.

Eric Todd earned his 25 straight patch tonite. Good Shooting!! Hope to see you all next week.

Don't forget your longbird ticket. The pot should be around $500 at the 7pm drawing.

    Curt:

The club fronts the first $20 of every new pot. Example: Shooter breaks target with $500 in the pot. Shooter gets $250, club banks $230 and $20 starts the next pot.

Last nite was a total wash out. We had about 30 show up for diner but no one wanted to brave the cold, wind driven rain. Longbird Jackpot remains at $401 for next week.

Long range forecast for next Thursday is calling for Sun and 70. Just about anything would be better than last week. Now, if I can just shake this flu.

With the way the weather is looking this week I expect the Longbird Jackpot to go over $500 by the 7pm drawing. Don't forget your ticket.

    3-3/4 Dr., 1-1/4 oz. of # 6.

And it has to be fired from Larry K's H&R Topper (circa 1959) with no front bead (he used it to replace his front tooth).

    Dirk:

We are using a 3drm 1 1/8 #8 1200fps GunClub. Everyone who shoots at the longbird has used this shell. I'm going to need another box soon.
