I am officially banishing thoughts of cost from my mind.

I don't care what ammo costs or what they charge me to shoot at the clubs. I will reload because I want to make a nice load that I'm happy with, not because I save any money. I will be blind to the cost of lead shot, wads, primers, powder, and empty hulls.

If the cost of my favorite shells increases, I won't pay attention. The cost is what it is and any anxiety I set up will be wasted energy - energy I should use to shoot as well as I can with what I have.

If I have the money I'll buy what I want, shoot want I want, and reload what I want. I might even buy a new gun now and then and not concern myself with the cost. I won't go into hock for my hobby, however.

I'll be at the Grand in Sparta from the 11th to the 13th. I'll shoot if I can but I won't have a problem if I can't. I'm staying in a motel about 30 miles away because it was available, not because it was cheap. If its too hot at for my tush, I'll drive into a nice town, find a decent place that serves adult beverages, and nurse a cold one - or two. It would even be icing on that cake if the establishment allows cigars. There's a good chance I'll buy something at the Grand - maybe a gun, but more likely a leather pouch, a pair of glasses, some hulls, or something trivial. I guarantee that I will enjoy myself because that's what I've decided to do.

There are just too many important things to fret over without the need for me to concern myself with the above points. I feel better already by deciding to remove these issues from my plate.

Larry--Thats a great plan and good to hear. I'm also glad you will make the GRand if for nothing else to have fun and look around.

The Cigar thing i'm gonna have to bust your bubble. It is against the law in the State of IL to smoke in a public establishment. Most of the bars/taverns have an outside smoking lounge. I believe the same law is in effect in St.Louis County with exception of the Casinos. There are several of those within 60 miles of Sparta just into Missouri.

Have a safe trip to and from the Grand. We are happy to have you in my hometown.

    Just say'n......

You will add years to your life with your plan. I do many of the same things and don't worry about the years as they go by. And while you are having a cold one, if any of the local dollies puts the move on you, go with the glow.

    Stay loose. JF

The next thing is to not fret over the targets, the angles of the targets, the height of the targets, the speed of the targets, the color of the targets, the hardness of the targets, the speed of the pull, the background. Just see the bird and shoot the bird. Can you tell I am a trap mechanic, and just survived last weekend's shoot? Now if you can do all that, as well as what you started with, you are welcome to shoot at our club anytime, although you may have to tell us you are a trap shooter, as we won't be able to recognise you as a trapshooter with your positive attitude. Hey Larry,

If you'd like to meet at the beer tent one night I'll buy so you won't fret over the cost of cold beer either. I plan to be there for the whole sheebang.
