If you ask me, I am pretty sure Bush had something to do with it. :)

cubancigar2000- Yes, it might be greed but probably greed by the local government that sets the tax rates. Governments make more profit per gallon of gasoline than the oil companies and the service stations.

    7marythree nailed it.

The primer mfgs found out we'd pay more so they raised the price and just like gasoline, we keep on buying.

Hmmm, I paid only $148 each for 2 cases of WW209 from CAC. Mt dollars must be getting bigger. And at that price buying reliable primers costs less than 1 penny per shell more than buying inconsistent cheap primers.

    Unknown1,

Yes, CAC was charging $148 and Geiser was charging $160 for WW209S. Even at $148, I feel you are getting screwed. Fiocchis are made in Europe I believe, not Mexico or China. They can make, ship and distribute them here for 48% less than the big three can here! HHHHMMMMMMM.I shoot with two guys who have been using Fiocchis for years with no misfires. I was with three more guys who baught and are switching to Fiocchis. When my Remingtons run dry, I too will probably make the switch also. I'm getting a little tired of trying to support American companies and taking it up the a$$ when I do. Buy the way, I shoot a LJUTIC. No P or K guns for me when there are American guns being produced that are as good if not better than the foreign ones. IMHO.

I used Fiocchi primers once upon a time but their slightly larger diameter than Remington and their considerably larger diameter than Winchester put them in the category with Rios where I had to dedicate hulls specifically to those primers. Add to that the fact that my XTs all punched holes in Fiocchi primers and burned their firing pins. Replacing firing pins ate up any saving that came from buying cheaper primers. I punch Fiocchi, Rio and Cheddite and can't get Nobel from my supplier so I'll use what works best for me.
