Obama Wants $4.5 Billion to Enforce Gun Control
January 18, 2013 By Josephine Djuhana

In case the list of Executive Orders that President Obama recently rolled out was too verbose for you to follow along with, here is a chart that breaks down the numbers on proposed spending: (Refer to the link to see the chart)

Local governments, especially in California, have proven they are incapable of keeping their finances in order, and should be the last institutions to trust our children’s safety with. Why not invest in armed guards on public campuses? A new Pew Research survey says 64 percent of Americans favor placing armed guards in the country’s schools. And why do schools need $30 million in incentives to develop and implement emergency management plans? Shouldn’t students’ safety be incentive enough?

That’s right — even with the debt ceiling rapidly approaching, President Obama has the audacity to direct Congress to appropriate nearly $4.5 billion for the purpose of preventing gun violence. Throwing money at government programs, state governments and school districts in the name of gun control and public safety is hardly a solution that will prevent criminals from going on killing sprees in our cities and towns.

Growing government spending seems to be Obama’s knee-jerk reaction to most, if not all, situations that affect America. People don’t have enough healthcare? Throw money into government healthcare. People are impoverished and hungry? Throw money into food stamps and other entitlement programs. People have struggling businesses? Throw money into big corporations and pass out tax credits to alternative energy companies. People are going on killing sprees at schools? Throw money at states, at cops, at teachers, at school administrators, at psychologists, and hope for the best.
