President Obama’s ambitious plan for stepped up government regulation of the oceans includes an unreported effort to cede U.S. oceans to United Nations-based international law, WND has learned.

The plan was previously a pet project of Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta, whose ocean-zoning scheme was partnered with a globalist group that also aimed to hand over U.S. oceans to U.N. governance.

Obama’s plan is still in draft form. It calls for an executive order to be issued for a National Ocean Policy that will determine how the ecosystem is managed while giving the federal government more regulatory authority over any businesses that utilize the ocean.

The executive order is to be based on the recommendations of Obama’s Interagency Ocean Policy Taskforce, created in 2010 also by executive order.

The agency is tasked with recommending specific actions for a presidential plan to achieve the vision of “an America whose stewardship

The "oceans" are not owned by any nation, and rules governing traffic use, etc, are already covered under various international agreements. The part of Obama's plan that should be of concern is that the federal government would take over management of many thousands of miles of inland waterways (rivers, lakes, etc), bypassing or overruling state sovereignty of a states own waterways.

We do own part of the ocean, just as other countries do. In our case it's called the 200 mile limit. We own the ocean within 200 miles of our shores.

USA doesn't have a 200 mile limit. It claims an 12 nautical mile territorial limit, a contiguous of 24 nautical miles, and a 200 mile exclusive economic zone.

By the Constitution then Federal Government controls all navigable waterways in the the country. That definition has been expanding to mean any waters flowing into a navigable waterway. Interstate commerce clause has given the Federal Government additional over the inland waterways

"...200 mile exclusive economic zone. ..."

Nice how you conveniently overlooked that first time around.

More omission of facts by you.

No wonder no one believes anything you post.

Brian-Trueman stated the 200 mile limit, continental shelf, for the US but no other country approves of this, to date the old law of 3 mile limit still remains along with some 12 mile limits never signed by all countries. Lee

Check the post Farmers Beware. With the control of the oceans ( which the executive order I believe was sighed tuesday) to give Obastard contol over the echo system means that any runoff of fertilizers or anyother chemicals gives the federal govt. the right to sieze the landowners land if stiff penalities can't be met. The runoff goes into the small streams on into the rivers then into the Mississippi and on to the ocean. Destroying the ecosystem. O MY GOSH WHAT WILL WE DO NOW. Don't fret. Obastard will save us. Wild Bill
