This article was so good, and to the point that I just had to share it with those of you so inclined.

The author has a somewhat extreme viewpoint but I believe there is a lot of truth in what she says. The sad part is that Republicans are also for big government. Anyone who doesn't believe that simply hasn't been paying attention.

gw22, I don't think that is extreme at all, most sheople just can't see what is happening to us. When it is too far out there to believe, the liberals are usually involved and counting on you to see it as "extreme". They are doing things that are so absurd you wouldn't think it possible, and they are doing it right before our very eyes!

What she says is pretty much the way it is............go back to sleep it will be over soon enough

I read the thread before I read the referenced article. Your 'extreme viewpoint' comment caused me to scrutinize the article for excessive right wing hyperbole and exaggerated conservative puffery. As a result, I read and reread the article several times looking for the 'extreme' part(s). The nearest I could come was the following passage,

"Growing government is the real reason Progressives are pushing socialized medicine. They know perfectly well it doesn't work. THEY ARE NEITHER BLIND NOR STUPID. They don't care about your health, or what healthcare costs you now, or about rationing or low quality care."

After observing Obambi and his administration for the past 100 days, and reflecting on their overt socialist agenda, denying their "stupidity" in the context of this discussion was certainly extreme.

You can't possibly be serious. While Republicans have certainly been guilty of overspending and incremental expansion of the federal government, to compare their reprehensible behavior with Obambi and the liberal left's dream of totalitarianism is naive in the extreme.

As I said, I believe there is a lot of truth in what the article says. It is clearly, however, an extreme viewpoint. If you read it objectively, you'll see many comments which are extreme. For example, it says "Progressives don't care about children." Many Progressives have children themselves, so, yes, it is an extreme statement. Progressives are misguided and their efforts hurt children, but it's done out of ignorance not lack of caring for children. Another example: it says "Progressives don't care about women (or blacks or gays). A lot of women, blacks and gays are Progressives themselves, so, yes, it is an extreme (and silly) statement.

In case anyone isn't clear on what a Progressive is, this will give you an idea:

Keep in mind that we don't all have to be in absolute lock-step agreement as in the "You're either with us or you're against us" mentality. It's OK for us to think for ourselves, and qualify things. Yes, the article is basically right in my opinion but God gave me a brain, so I can basically agree with the article but also see its extreme slant. And again, government growth -- the main topic of the article -- happened under the Republicans too. Look it up for yourself.

If the progressives "cared" about children they would teach them what is needed to survive and prosper in this world! They would teach them to be the best they can be, to be an individual instead of just a team member(purposely to make them "dependent" on others for survival). But instead they are dumbing them down and indoctinating them with liberal lies and falsehoods.

Gary, the mafia don loves his children too. That doesn't mean he "loves children". He is perfectly willing to hook YOUR children on drugs and turn your daughter into a prostitute.

Both parties are for big government which means less freedom. But the Democrats have taken it to a new level. I never thought America could sink as low as it has to elect someone that is as big a socialist as Obama is. This man is destroying America. This Obama and his friends in the Democratic party are the worst thing that has ever happened to America. We will never be the same. Yet 70 percent of the dumbmasses still support this snake oil salesman. He has some kind of power over fools.
