It appears that the democratic governor Brown has signed the dream act into law whereby illegals can get financial help to go to college. This seems so stupid when Americans are struggling not only to live but also to go to school. It's no wonder that California is broke with idiots running the government. Jackie B.

Amazing we are talking about cutting SS checks to deserving Americans, but we will give collage $$ to undocumented democrats. Go figure?

Well, it may help get rid of them in our state or yours. More benefits also would help also.
Some people need help ; others are too damn lazy and love to have someone else foot the bill for every thing .

There are still people that are having a rough time making it and are doing it on their own. These are the ones that should be getting the help!! Ken U

My grandson had to leave Arizona State and come back to Wyoming to finish his engineering degree. Arizona wouldn't recpgnize him as a resident because he had started as a non-resident. He didn't qualify for any non-resident aide because he wasn't an illegal immigrant. Wyoming has a better engineering school as it turns out. Az just has the flashy name. He wanted to stay in Az because of playing baseball.

    CALIFORNIA “DREAM ACT” APPROVED

Yesterday, California Gov. Jerry Brown signed a bill into law allowing illegal immigrants to receive privately funded scholarships to attend the state’s public colleges and universities in addition to receiving in-state tuition rates, an opportunity not open to U.S. citizens from other states.

The California Dream Act aims to helping illegal immigrants who earned a diploma after attending at least three years of high school in the state.

A similar law was passed in Maryland and then recalled for a fall vote after opponents gathered enough signatures to force a state referendum seeking its repeal. Twelve other states also grant in-state tuition eligibility to illegal immigrants based on attendance and graduation from a state high school.

Not defending Gov. Moonbeam, just wondering, the twelve other states mentioned are not named. Seems Ca. did not take the lead on this travesty.

Governor O'Malley of Maryland signed a similar law in Maryland earlier in the year. The grass roots rose up and a petition was circulated to get it on the ballot. Signatures totaling 55,000 were needed and the last I heard 132,000+ plus had been turned in. The state election board validated 108,000 and certified that the proposal would be on the ballot November 2012. The law is presently suspended pending the results of the election. Now we have to watch how it is worded as in the past ballot initiatives have been worded so that a "no" vote would actually be a vote to approve whatever law the petition sought to overturn.
