Just curious if anyone has fired the Judge with the 3" barrel? I see you can get slug rounds or a "Magnum" round or a wide variety of other rounds. I wonder what the recoil is like. Can the gun be fired with one hand?

    Thanks for any feedback.

Jon, I have a SS Judge with a 3" bbl, double action. I have fired slugs, and the Federal 000 Buckshot Personal Defense ammo in it. The 000 has a little more kick but shooting it with one hand is no problem. Larry Evans

    Jon,

Yes it can be fired with one hand. Simply because it weighs a ton.

I have an Ultralite Judge, DA only its not a magnum--recoil is very manageable; however-in darkness the flash is unbelieveable--if you had any night vision---its gone,

My 110 Pound wife handles it one handed with no problems.

recoil isn't bad but get the Federal "Handgun" shotshells. Faster powder, more of the velocity you don't get with regular shotshells due to the almost nonexistent barrel.

The shot shells seem to have more kick than the 45LC - but neither is to bad as the gun is heavy. Wife and daughter both shoot it. Yes - good flash when shot at the range in the dark!
