Hang in there Doda, had the biopsy done back in 2003, they came back negative, I was lucky--lost a few good buds to this disease---catch in early & survive---remember deNile ain't a river in Egypt--this goes for you gals who don't get your mamograms---the big "C" is an equal opportunity preditor. You can beat once you're aware---good luck-we got your back

Many people hate the preparation time the day before. All you guys need to tell your friends to get this test. The short test that they do in the office is NOT ENOUGH. If you are over 50 or had cancer in your family get er done now. motordoc

I had my prostate removed via the DaVinci robot on May 20th of this year. My cancer was detected as the result of my annual physical and the associated PSA test.

I did a tremendous amount of reading before deciding on surgical removal and the most startling information is that a Caucasian American male has a 1 in 8 chance of developing prostate cancer. If you're black, its more like 1 in 6 die to genetics.

The message here guys is to get checked if you're over 50. If there's a history of prostate cancer in your family, you need to start earlier.

The good news here is its very curable if caught early enough. Did I mention that you should all get your PSA checked?

Doda - My surgery went well and was practically painless. The worst part was having the catheter in for 2 weeks. Hang in there.
