Would anybody know if water damage caused by a 7 year old kid forgetting to turn off the sink and flooding the upstairs bathroom (overnight) is covered by a homeowners policy?
    Thanks for any info. JM

Yes it is a covered loss . The only two cases where water is not is 1) water that comes from the outside like a sprinkler valve or sewer backup etc. 2) a self inflicted wound for the purpose of collecting. In your case it is an accident and an inside leak. No different than your wife driving through your garage door, it is an accident
