heck, I re-use all kinds of stuff for Christmas. I am always bummed when someone give us a Christmas Card and writes on the inside left side, it messes with my ability to cut that part of the card away and use it again as a present card............my niece only wraps presents in old newpaper, my wife likes unwrapping presents so much, we will "multiple dummy wrap" them by putting boxes in boxes (that is where I am usually using my flats of shell boxes) and then wrapping each up.

Keep on going for it, it makes for great conversation.

My only problem is this. If I were your son, and you gave me a shell box with underwear or socks inside, I would be upset. Who wants underwear or socks when they thought they were getting 1 oz. loads of #8s?

The shell box thing isn't so bad. I have a brother that reuses birthday & christmas cards. He draws a line thru the senders name and add his own. Kind of puts a new perspective on cheap "OR" as he says...I'm going green.

Guess it depends on if any of the flaps are torn.

My wife's Christmas gift is wrappped in a Shell box...wrapped in a flat box .... wrapped in a Milk Bone Dog biscuit case! It'll take her a while to get to those earrings!

I'm sure she won't notice the boxes when she gets to the diamond earrings!

    Merry Christmas,

    Bob

When ever I need to send a birthday/Christmas/ aniversary/or what ever card, I just find a grocery bag cut out a piece the size of a card, take a sharpie, and write " Money's tight and times are hard so here's your effin Christmas card" (I alter it a little for kids, your Merry Christmas card)

I'll be damned if I'm going to spend the price of a box of shells on some damned hallmark card, and all they want is the money anyway, at least nobody has ever sent it back

I didn't have wrapping paper big enough for the present that I got for my barn manager, so I put it in a white kitchen garbage bag...the kind with the drawstring ties, and I drew a cartoon horse on it that said "My owner was too cheap to buy a Christmas bag." She thought it was pretty funny. The present inside was expensive, though...new leather riding boots.
