General Electric is planning to move its 115-year-old X-ray division from Waukesha , Wis. , to Beijing. In addition to moving the headquarters, the company will invest $2 billion in China and train more than 65 engineers and create six research centers. This is the same GE that made $5.1 billion in the United States last year, but paid no taxes-the same company that employs more people overseas than it does in the united States .

So let me get this straight. President Obama appointed GE Chairman Jeff Immelt to head his commission on job creation (job czar). Immelt is supposed to help create jobs. I guess the President forgot to tell him in which country he was supposed to be creating those jobs.

If this doesn't show you the total lack of leadership of this President, I don't know what does.

Don't forget that G E is also the parent company of NBC, and MSNBC, which has provided the most biased, skewed coverage of this administration, of all the networks. These two news stations have reduced themselves to nothing more than giddy cheerleaders raising their pom-poms and skirts for this White House. All the while, G E continues to profit and expand as do all those who backed B O.

That is sad. I have been there. GE has some of the best if not the best imaging equipment out there, not just x ray. MRI, US, NUC MED, etc. They are a big player in the imaging field.

They already got the incandest light bulb banned. Opened a factory in China to make the miniflourescents and laid off thousands of workers here in the US, plus make no income taxes on earnings, of course that is due to our screwed up tax code.

I worked in the data communication division of GE just after I got out of the Marines in 74. During that time GE set up Datacom de Mexico and eventually moved all but a few of those jobs south of the border. They have a long history of sending jobs overseas for cheap labor.

As a general principle I have not bought a GE product or used any of their financial services in many many years.

Until the laws are changed this is what you are going to get. Too much regulations, high corporate taxes.

As a headsup GE does not own NBC any longer. They sold NBC to Comcast earlier this year.

We should treat all these companies that move out of the US the same. Put a 25% import tax on everything they send into the US. Forign based companies operating in the US have to buy a yearly license based on 10% of thier production.

Wouldn't Libertarians believe GE could do what it wanted to do? Wouldn't Libertarians object to any REGULATIONS that would prevent that move?

Does John Galt know these things?

yeah, those TeePee clowns really stand up for the American workers....NOT!! LOL Another bunch of self centered hypocritical twits...sort of like Bachmann and her farm subsidies :) Good ole' Mary should be turning her back on GE 100% for all of their outsourcing but all I hear are crickets from her end....

mrskeet 410...........while toyota and the like employ people in their factories here in the USA is a good thing just where do you think the profits go and to what country's GNP?

ctreay has the right idea, make their import taxes the same as we have to pay for our goods going into their country. In fact make our laws to match theirs!! As we speak our fearless leaders are making a deal with Southeast Asian countries to let their goods in our country with little or no import taxes.

    Likes to shoot -

Toyota operations in USA are part of Japan's GNP, but part of USA's GDP (Gross Domestic Product) in the same way as GM's (and GE's) operations in China are part of China's GDP but part of USA's GNP. That's why GDP is used today rather than GNP.

Incidentally, most of the high value added components of Toyotas assembled in USA are made in Japan and imported to USA where the final product is assembled from mostly Japanese made parts. But having a part of the pie (assembly) is better than getting none of the pie.

I don't know where the components of GM cars produced in China are made.

    serv99,

The thread was about GE moving jobs and you attempt to turn this into a Tea Party bashing fest.(TeePee clowns?)I've read alot of your posts and you seem to be a very frustrated little man. The possibility of Barry not being re-elected must really scare you. Perhaps we can get you a job tossing Barry's salad. This should be an easy commute for you since thats where you store your nose.

and to quote most of your posts......ROFLMAOOOOOO.

    Here is some;

    Redistribution of wealth,
    Its Bush's fault,
    The tea party terrorists,
We have to pass the bill to find out whats in the bill,
    teepee clowns,
    its for the children,
tolerance is the only way to live, except when it comes to the Christian belief,,
your a racist if you didn't vote for the half blackman,
    birthers.

Oh ya "tax the rich, they aren't paying their "fair" share" except don't look into GE!!

Now that we know GE is moving to China, it might be a good time to stop buying all products made by GE

Retail products are a tiny piece of GE's business. They dominate jet engines, electric generation and distribution equipment, plastics for the auto industry, and railroad locomotives. How much of those things do shooters buy directly?

O'Reily, had something on this last week. He said that GE was going to invest money in China to produce jet engines so they - China can build airlines to compete against Boeing.

And like Jim said GE' s chief executive is Jeffrey Immelt, Obama's ahole buddy whom he put in charge of his job commission. Amazing. Boeing wanted to open a plant in South Carolina and Ojackass has a hemmorage and sinks the Depart. of Labor on them, because he doesn't want any plants opened in a right to work state, but his ahole buddy is going help China put Boeing out of business, and nothing is said.

Oh yeah, everybody ought to feel safe climbing aboard a jet with GE engines made in China.

Let's see here....5,000 moving parts that went to the lowest bidder with help that's making 2 yen a day. Yep, totally safe.
