I once heard Buddy Rich execute (I think that's the term) "All the Things You Are" totally on cowbell, and he completely SOLD the song to me.

In the hands of mere mortals, the expressive range of that instrument doesn't go deeper than, "Let's go Aggies, clank, clank, clank-clank-clank," but GAWD this guy was an artist...totally pulled it off.

He inspired me...ever since that day...I've repeatedly petitioned to be the first cowbell player in our church's bell choir...been repeatedly turned down, but, I HAVE my vision now, and will NOT give up on it.

    Alf27,

Have you been listening to an old Bob and Tom CD? They have a very funny skit about this!
