I really enjoyed viewing these cartoons in the paper every week. Here are three of my favorites:

I always loved Early Vegetarians Returning from the Kill. Below is the best I could find for a pic.....Larsen and his publisher are very aggressive in pursuing unauthorized copies on the internet.

Two male angles on a clowd. One is shooting at ducks and the other angles says "Mitch, I don't think you can do that".

Hmmm, must have been an obtuse, duck hunting angle.

Two saber toothed tigers walking down a path. In the background, laying on the path, was a heavy wooden club and a fur piece of clothing.

One of the tigers turns to the other and says, "I've heard a lot of sounds out of those things but yabba dabba do was a new one on me!"

Larson produced so many spectacularly funny cartoons, any attempt at picking a "favorite" is for me, an exercise in futility.

One of his funniest contributions wasn't even a regular cartoon. The dedication page of THE FAR SIDE GALLERY, first printing Sept. 1984 is a picture of a specimen jar which is labeled, "For My Parents".

That Larson boy just aint right!

Auctioneer, I had that cartoon on my computer for a long time. Words don't do it justice.

Setterman, How true. I did have a copy of it but misplaced it.

The ones that I want to see are the ones that couldn't be printed because of the cencers.

My favorite are the two bears looking at each other with a rifle laying by their feet.

One says to the other "Thunderstick?....You actually said Thunderstick?...That, my friend is a Winchester 30.06"

Two deer standing and talking regarding the birthmark on the chest of one - a series of concentric red circles - great resemblance to a target.

    "Bummer of a birthmark Hal..."

I've always liked the one with the owner driving the car and the dog hanging out the window yelling at his buddies, " We are going to the post office and then I'm going to the vet to get tutored"!
