    Earl,

When I shoot a couple rounds with Columbia's President next week, I'll pass along that you got your nose out of joint over his unconscionable treatment of Mr. Ahmedinejad.

Just a thought...if I were to get him to invite, say, Kim Jong Il, and kiss his ass real good...would that put things right for you?

    Earl,

Your legitimate post says far more than that anonymous rant posted by shooting jack. Wonder who wrote that? An insurance company? I'll bet jack doesn't know either.

I was visiting in Canada back when Hillary first proposed universal health care. I asked at least 50 Canadians how they liked their health care system. Every single one of them said they would never go back to private, for-profit, insurance. Yes, they pay for it with tax money, but it costs less than for-profit insurance, and everone is covered. If we had it here, the car companies could compete with the Japanese, poor and elderly folks would have care.

I don't have to worry about health care for myself, but I hate the attitude of those who say "I've got mine, screw everybody else".

To Earl 4140. If you never met anyone unhappy with med a care in Ontario
you certainly didn't look very far. Many of us can't get a doctor and all of us pay a huge extra health tax that the Liberals invented that no one can really say goes into health care. I could give hundreds probably thousands of examples of poor service without even trying . This site does not have room for this subject.

Since when did it become the job of the Federal government to support the entire population when it comes to various programs such as socalized health care. Typical Democratic chest thumping so they can get votes from those willing to give up their rights in support of a "freebe" from the Feds. The cost of this program (and all her programs) will fall squarley on the backs of the middle class in the form of increased taxes. And I am sure the 12 million plus illegal aliens in this country will want free medical care clogging the system even though they haven't paid a peso in taxes since they snuck into this country . If you haven't figured it out yet, Hillary is a Socalist and will drive this country into ruin with her half-ass programs and new "pork barrel" agencies that her administration would form. You think government spend is out of control now, just let Hillary get in office. Understand that this woman will do anything to get elected. A lot of you have a really short memory about her first attempt at health care.

"Yes, the waiting lines are longer for surgery and fortunately we have not had a need for serious medical procedures."

" In the States I would have exploded before they had finished copying my medical insurance papers and requesting a copy of my document that designated the person responsible for pulling my 'Plug'. "

Well, which is it? The second statement is at least conjecture, if not an outright lie. If you people had to defend the ENTIRE civilized world, you wouldn't have any money left for your fancy medical program. You're welcome.

Something has to change with the present healthcare system. And someone has to step up to the plate and do something. When something is broke that you have to use, and 60 million people in this country don't have access to health care, and the other 250 million are going broke paying for what they do have, something is going to change. Where are these other talking heads on healthcare? I may not care for Hillery, but she's the only one addressing the issue. As a result of this issue alone she will most likely be our next President. Sad to say, but unless Fred, John, or some other Republican steps up to address this issue Hillary will win!!!!!

In regard to SHOOTING JACKS post I would have two comments to make, #1 is if this person is paying 55% income tax I suggest he needs a different accountant and #2 if he is in fact in that tax bracket he can well afford to jump on a plane and go to India for his operations along with the rest of the Canadians and Americans who want their operations either faster or cheaper and quit p&&%g and moaning about paying his lousy $96.00 a month!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I own a business in the USA and have very good private health care insurance for my family and my employees. I pay A BUNCH for that coverage.

I also own a second home on Vancouver Island in Canada. I and my family have, on occasion, had medical issues when we were in Canada. In fact, last Thanksgiving we were there and had a rather major medical emergency. Even though we are not Canadian, the cost of using their health care system for us is less than our co-pay in the USA. And, the medical care we received has always been excellent. The facilities are first rate, clean and the personel are caring and skilled. We don't sit 2 to 7 hours in the Emergency room (the national average in the U.S.) waiting to be seen.

I have employees who wait as long as 2 months to see specialists when referred through the U.S. insurance dominated system. As a few of our Canadian friends have stated above, I have never talked to a Canadian who did not appreciate the good health care they get and that it is provided by the government. Sure they wait for some proceedures. But, anyone in the U.S. using most insurance based systems wait too. And, the doctors and hospitals in the U.S. seem to care more about money than medicine about half the time.

I just know that I could not afford to live in the US...I farm by myself...our system is not perfect and those with deep pockets travel to the US for surgery because they can...when my knees get replaced I will be put on a waiting list and it may take 6 mo. to a year to get the surgery but my Alberta Health Care/Blue Cross will cover it...

My best friend in Canada drove his dad down to Michigan for a MRI. The waiting list in Canada was one year. It cost him 10,000 on a credit card but saved his life as he needed prompt open heart surgery.

On the other hand I'm sure their are many that die in the states every year because of no insurance.

Why would they die from no health insurance?? All they have to do is go to the emergency room of any hospital. That's why there is a 2 - 8 hour wait. Those without use the ER as a primary care physcian. They don't pay but you do when you or another paying customer uses the facility. Hospitals don't or can't refuse care.

This is another continuing monthly discussion.

...And a lot of uninsured people don't go because they fear that big bill. They don't get yearly check-ups or blood work.

Food, shelter, clothing and transportation are more essential to my well being than health care. Why do we not petition the government to provide those benefits as well?

It may be a fair argument weather govt. health care is better for our nation as a whole. But for those of us who already have good health care coverage, we are sure to be worse off. BTW, I have good health care coverage because I have earned it! And why is there never any discussion as to why in this age of $4 lattes and $100 gym shoes do 60 million have no health insurance.

Many people cannot get health insurance in this country at any price. The insurance companies use pre existing conditions to turn down applications. Those that have good coverage through work and pre existing conditions better not lose their jobs.

**Why would they die from no health insurance?? All they have to do is go to the emergency room of any hospital.**

Try to be a bit less ignorant, BIGDON. The emergency room will render only emergency treatment, just enough to stabilize the patient. After that, they're on their own. Just try getting your cancer treatment, or AIDS or tuberculosis treatment or back surgery at the emergency room. It won't happen and you will die.

I see that "straight-talking" John McCain is now proposing a $2500 tax credit so poor people can buy health insurance. How thoughtful of him, but how's that going to help a family which has a $30,000 total income and for which health insurance costs $15,000 per year?

"I've got mine, screw everbody else". Gawd I hate Republicans.

That's got to be one of the dumbest things I've ever read. How'd you like to have a million dollar house, Italian silk suits, a freezer full of T-bones, a Ferrari, and a nice case of pancreatic cancer?

**Not being knowledgable about Canada's health system I could only take what the letter said**

Now that's nice thinking. You don't know anything, so you copy and past a load of mostly BS. How did you decide which load of BS to use? What are you using for brain loads? A half grain of Green Dot?
